Job Title: Technical Sales Engineer

I am currently recruiting for a Technical Sales Engineer to join my client who are a global machinery manufacturer. My client has been operating for over 50 years and have 700 customers in 150 different countries including Bentley & Rolls Royce. Due to increased demand, they are now looking for a Technical Sales Engineer to be the go between for the engineering and sales department.

Technical Sales Engineer Role:

  • Maintaining and increasing sales of your company’s products
  • Helping developing strategy, tactics, sales plans and profit targets
  • Developing relationships with clients
  • Identifying and reporting on business opportunities in target markets
  • Representing the business at conferences, trade fairs and networking events
  • Maximising new business development opportunities
  • Reaching the targets and goals set for your area
  • Establishing, maintaining and expanding your customer base
  • Servicing the needs of your existing customers
  • Increasing business opportunities through various routes to market
  • Compiling and sales figures
  • Dealing with major customer accounts
  • Collecting customer feedback and market research
  • Reporting to managers
  • Keeping up to date with products and competitors

Technical Sales Engineer Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience
  • Engineering background
  • Direct sales experience - Ideally capital equipment, plant, machinery – not essential
  • Second Language an advantage (Spanish, German, French) but not essential
  • Overseas travel experience an advantage
  • Experience in preparation of costings and technical specifications
  • Will need to work independently as part of a small UK based sales team
