Customer Investigations Controller

Working as part of our thriving Operational Finance function, this role forms part of our growing Investigations Team that is responsible for the investigation of unmatched or missing transactions and the rectification of any payment failures. The role is customer facing (but this isn’t call centre) dealing with payment queries on a day to day basis, requesting bank traces, proof of payments and recalls to help resolve issues. We are passionate about supporting our merchants and internal WorldPay customers, therefore great customer service and taking ownership of your contribution will also lead to success in this team.
How will you add value on a day-to-day basis?
As an Investigations controller, your responsibility will be to completion of investigations, from identification of issue through to resolution. You will analyse trends and help to find proactive resolution and escalation of issues. You will provide accurate advice and information to both internal and external sources. As part of a busy team, you will prioritise workload to ensure SLA's are met and continually look at ways of improving efficiencies, providing potential solutions and follow through to implementation. Investigations work on pro-rota shift pattern (between 8am-6pm)
What will make you the ideal candidate?
We are looking for analytically minded individuals with a curious attitude. You will have excellent attention to detail along with an ability to identify anomalies. You will be adept at finding solutions and demonstrate enthusiasm to work in a fast paced environment and get things done. Technically, you will have a good working knowledge of Excel. Some understanding of payments and experience of working in the Banking and payments arena would be advantageous not essential (eg CHAPS, BACS, SWIFT etc) You must be highly motivated and able to prioritise and deliver to multiple deadlines, working with a high volume, constant flow of work with changing priorities though out the day. Ideally you'll have excellent communication skills and the confidence to build effective internal and external business relationships.
