We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our busy team situated in Sheffield City Centre, within easy reach of all transport links.

You will enjoy problem solving, thrive on variety, are enthusiastic, can learn quickly and able to work to a high standard. You will work as part of a dedicated team on our clinical patient record applications.
Ideally you will have experience in a commercial development role with a proven track record of developing quality software solutions.


Our applications are primarily developed utilising web based technologies, written using the Microsoft technology stack and are written in a variety of languages including HTML5, JavaScript, ASP.Net, C# .Net and SQL Server.

To succeed in this role you will need:
Excellent SQL Server T/SQL including optimising for performance
Excellent C# ASP.Net skills including Object Orientated Design Methodologies and design patterns
Web Standards (HTML5, CSS3)
JavaScript

It would be great if you had some of the following but they are only desirable skills:
Silverlight
AJAX/Json
nHibernate
JQuery
Subversion (SVN)
Agile development practices

What will you be doing?

Manage own workload to service level timescales
As and when required provide triage assistance of new issues
Diagnosing and correcting problems in the application software
Peer Testing
Keep accurate records of fixes including change records, test plans and customer facing release notes
Follow the appropriate quality standards and procedures.

What you will need to succeed:

Ability to prioritise and manage own work load
Good written and verbal communication skills
Solution focussed with a can do attitude
Flexible and responsive in order to achieve objectives
Proactive approach with a willingness to take ownership and follow through on actions.
The ability to assess the impact of a software changes on other parts of the system
Completing work thoroughly and to a high standard
Ability to accurately follow processes and procedures to a high standard to ensure quality
