Software Developer

A Software Developer ( x3 ) is required by an Investment Bank based in London, focusing on building out of various new trading suites and risk systems. As a Software Developer, you will focus mainly on front office business facing development with exposure and access to an extremely knowledgeable and experienced team of traders and quants as well as to a broad technology stack Java 8, Scala, Big Data. You will deep dive into problems trading desks face with the attitude to solve these problems and generate greater efficiency and productivity within the team. Its a very broad technical role, rooted in Java development however you will not mind getting to grips with C++, C#, Python and Automation, as well as using innovative technologies, including Hadoop, Scala, Elastic, Kafka, Docker, Linux, SQL and nonSQL etc.

Key skills

At least two three years of commercial experience is required having worked as a Java Developer or alternatively other programming languages are applicable such as C/C++/C#, Scala and Python ideally within a Linux or Unix environment.

Exposure to DevOps and an aptitude for Automation would be beneficial but not essential, as the team is currently looking for new ways to streamline processes and improve efficiency, i.e. within automation testing and continuous integration.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills as this role will require constant business engagement. There will be many interesting and challenging technical problems, so problemsolving skills are required.

Strong academic qualifications in any of the following subjects/natural sciences: Computer Science, Computing Engineering, Maths, Physics.


Role details

Salary: between circa £45,000 to £75,000 dependent on experience + excellent bonus + benefits package
