Academics are currently working with a client that are looking for a qualified, experienced nursery assistant to join their lovely nursery team in Cardiff and make everlasting wonderful memories. Nursery Assistant Main duties include: To assist in the operation of the nursery school planning and providing activities suitable for the Early Years Foundation Phase To plan, prepare and evaluate activities at the appropriate ability levels of the children To be a key person, monitoring and recording all the educational, physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs of children Liaise with and support parents/guardians and other family members, encouraging their involvement in the aims of the nursery routine Liaise with the Local Authorities and other professionals associated with the nursery school. To ensure that appropriate standards of safety, security and hygiene are maintained at all times on the nursery premises. Specifically to ensure adherence to the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Phase regulated by Ofsted. To keep abreast of new developments in policies and practice surrounding childcare, education and play. To attend regular staff meetings and to participate in nursery social occasions such as nursery fun-days, open evenings and nursery outings. To attend training courses for continual personal development in line with requirements. Undertake day-to-day domestic tasks within the nursery; tidying of rooms, cleaning of equipment and base rooms. Experience/Knowledge *At least two years experience, including training, of working with children under five years olds. *Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Phase. *Experience in working in a non-discriminatory manner. *Experience of planning age appropriate activities, experience and interaction *Good record keeping *Good time keeping *Good understanding of team work As part of the Academics Cardiff Supply Team you will benefit from: * The support of a dedicated Primary consultant * Plenty of opportunities for long term contracts as well as an option of shorter and periodic work * AWR pay scale after 12 weeks work within any school * Excellent opportunities for CPD training (Team Teach/Read, Write Inc/Apple training and Big Maths)
