Client

My client a leading investment bank with operations all over the globe is currently recruiting for an APEX Developer to join them on a contract basis in there office in London. You'll be partnering the global rates business to define & deliver the strategic technology roadmap for structured trade booking in Debt inventory management. The key aspects of the role include regional business analysis & expectation management, solution architecture definition, and supervision of deliveries in accordance with the solution architecture. You will be accountable to senior business stakeholders primarily in London.

Skills

* Very strong architectural design skills with a proven track-record of introducing architectural change
* Expert level object orientated design skills, demonstrable in C++
* Experience in Java & WPF/.NET is desirable
* Experience with level low-latency messaging technology: LBM, Solace, Tibco
* Strong Structured Query Language (SQL) skills and database knowledge, preferably Oracle
* Knowledge of UI design patterns: MVC, MVVM
* UNIX command line experience desirable. Shell scripting not necessary but useful
* Strong analytical skills
* Knowledge of financial markets, products, pricing & execution - understanding of Repo not required but is a bonus
* Experience working in a Front Office (FO) trading environment
* A good presenter, with solid written and verbal communication skills
* Educated to a degree level or equivalent

Responsibilities

* Lead the evolvement of Rates front office trade capture platform to support structured products
* Formulate and execute an architectural roadmap focused on technology consolidation while providing business process efficiency
* Defining development standards and work with developers located within near-shore & remote development centers to ensure consistent development across the platform
* Defining improvements to existing SDLC process and tooling
* Contributing to Level 3 support of the production platform
* Ensuring adequate and accurate documentation at various stages of work, in accordance with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDL) documentation requirements
