This FTSE 100 listed organisation, have an immediate requirement for a Senior SQL ETL Developer to join their team in central London. The successful candidate will be reporting into the Head of Technology and will be working with an external vendor in developing and launching a new product.

Key Requirements:

  • A strong development background in SSIS
  • A desire to keep ahead of new and evolving technologies
  • Demonstrable experience of developing commercial customer-facing web applications with an emphasis on data, security and usability
  • Experienced in supporting, modifying and maintaining systems/code designed by others
  • Proven experience of managing/mentoring junior team members
  • Ability to liaise with the development team, third party stakeholders and the wider business
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience

Key Technical Skills:

  • Commercial hands-on development experience with some of the following technologies and practices including, but not limited to:
    • SQL Server 2008 to 2016
    • SSIS
  • Database / ETL process design and optimisation
  • Performance tuning using a range of tools
  • Extensive "Test first" TDD experience within coding frameworks around the following areas is essential:
    • Build and Unit testing
    • Integration tests
    • Smoke tests
    • Acceptance tests

Desirable Technical Skills

  • Commercial development experience using AWS infrastructure is essential. Related desirable skills including but not limited to:
    • Deployment of servers using scripting
    • Shipping files between S3 & SQL
    • Auto-scaling groups
  • Utilising various technologies to maintain a CI/CD pipeline, including but not limited to:
    • Packer
    • Terraform
    • TeamCity
  • Experience interacting-with NoSQL technologies such as ElasticSearch
