SCADA Production Control Systems and Projects Engineer - DCS, Instrumentation, MES, PIMS Near Blackpool and the Fylde Coast, Lancashire - Commute from Preston, Blackburn, Southport, Lancaster Candidates needing to relocate from over 25 miles way to within 25 miles of the plant, will be offered full relocation expenses and assistance as part of their package. To 40K + Benefits Highly Successful global high tech manufacturer requires experienced Production Control and Systems Engineer with DCS and SCADA MES skills, due to internal promotion. To provide expertise and management of process analytical equipment, process control instrumentation and process information systems. In this role you will: Support the design, development and implementation of new and existing control functions utilising the Yokogawa DCS, and Siemens MES and Exaquantum systems in the production of new and existing chemical materials. This role ensures that the safe running of the plant can be obtained through the provision of information to the operating team to: Manage the operation and maintenance of the process Gas Chromatography equipment (Sniffers) Provide guidelines and training to Instrument Technicians on 1st line support of Production Control Systems Develop and maintain documentation concerning the operation and installation of instrumented systems Design, install and commission data acquisition and control systems with SCADA & Exaquantum in order to provide detailed analysis of the process operating parameters Ongoing 2nd level DCS support to manufacturing including problem solving & troubleshooting to maintain output and quality Plan and carry out investigation work to collect data on products and processes, making recommendations to ensure maximum plant efficiency Work on Development of MES systems providing visibility of plant operations to other members of staff including senior management The development of information systems allowing data analysis to be undertaken efficiently and quickly, with the added requirement for data logging of control parameters To provide training and development in the job holders specialism for the Maintenance team in order to improve the efficiency of supported areas of the plant operations Required Skills and Experience: Time served I+E engineer with a minimum of 3 year's experience within a chemical manufacturing environment Certificate of Core Competence Hazardous Area Equipment Installation and Inspection (COMPEX) Requires a detailed understanding of the interface between the process distributed control system (DCS) and the field instrumentation Required to be able to work under pressure and to strict deadlines Needs to be team player as well as able to work alone when required Must possess basic leadership skills in order to provide efficient guidance and training to other departments (including but not limited to - Instrument Technicians) Good analytical skills which along with information gathering and attention to detail will enable the job holder to have a high level of problem solving ability Able to plan own work and provide feedback to other members of the staff & projects stakeholders What's in it for your career?
