Job title - Maintenance Engineer

Package - £37,000, bonus, overtime.

Shifts - 4 on 4 off (Continental)

Location - Dagenham, Essex.

Our client, who have been established for nearly 50 years, specialise in the manufacturing of construction materials, including cement, aggregate and ready mixed concrete. The business operates with over 250 sites in the UK, employing over 3000 staff and annually turn over just north of £2.5 Billion. They command a large majority of the current market, with their products being used in such high volume to accommodate the boom in the housing sector. At their site in Dagenham, my client is working at capacity to keep up with such high demand, for this reason they are looking for experienced Maintenance Engineers to join their team.

About the role

As a maintenance Engineer your role will involve the implementation of proactive planned maintenance, attending to breakdowns in a reactive nature and promoting an improvement culture within the team. The role includes working with electrical components, isolating currents safely, working with single and 3 phase motors, changing contactors, inverters and relays. The role also includes working with mechanical components, belts, rollers, chains, bearings, pneumatics, hydraulics and pumps. Due to constant upgrading and investment with the plant, there will be an aspect of installation of new equipment.

About you

To be considered for a Maintenance Engineer within this market leading organisation you will need to be enthusiastic about engineering and implementing an improvement culture, you must have experience working within the manufacturing industry and hold an electrical qualification (City and guilds 17th Edition or equivalent). You must also have the following;

- Strong experience working with mechanical components.
- The ability to fault find on Siemens PLC system.
- Experience working on automated equipment.
