Position: Manufacturing Engineer Location: St Neots, Cambridgeshire Salary: 25,000 - 34,000 (Dependent on Experience) The Company: Our client has a long history of developing innovative solutions tobring a better quality of life to the world. The Manufacturing Engineer Role: This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced ManufacturingEngineer to join a friendly and hardworking team within a successfulgrowing company. The Manufacturing Engineer will manage new product introduction andprovide production support engineering for a specific product or groupof products to meet customer design specifications. You will alsodevelop and sustain process improvements to reduce production cost andincrease yield. Key Responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineer: - Converting customers requirements into internal format and thetranslation of build data onto the company ERP system (BOMs and Routes) - Create assembly instructions - Manage the engineering change process - Support production team with process and quality issues - Implement process improvements were justified, provide design supportto customers and assist with quotes. - Customer liaison to aid the customer with DFM and to verify build requirements - Assitance with quotations - New Product Introduction - Production Support - Quality Support - Basic Design Support - Assist with equipment and services maintenance - Some travel to other sites, to customers, suppliers or equipment manufactures Skills & Experience Required: - Educated to minimum ONC/A Level in physics, electronics or relateddiscipline. High-grade GCSEs or equivalent in Technology or IT, Mathsand English. Proven experience in a similar role within an electronicsmanufacturing environment; proven experience in a similar role within anelectronics manufacturing environment - Electronics component knowledge to enable proficient selection ofcomponents during the creation of a bill of materials - Knowledge of SMT, through-hole and mechanical assembly processessufficiently to be able to produce documentation for a full turnkey product - Experience of manufacturing equipment used in the assembly PCBAs SMTPlacement machines, AOI, Selective / Wave soldering etc - Experience of designing assembly jigs and fixtures - Familiarity with IPC-A-610 assembly standards - Awareness of design for manufacture for electro-mechanical assemblies - Awareness of circuit board test processes and APQP techniques such as FMEA - Ideally experienced in use of ERP systems, illustration software,mechanical CAD systems, MS Access, MS Project, GC Prevue and dataanalysis tools - Strong MS Outlook, Word and Excel skills Whats Next?
