Wholesale Accounts Analyst

Due to an increase in workload and company wide growth, we currently have an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Analyst to join our Wholesale team based in Perth. Working within a dynamic finance team supporting a diverse range of businesses within Wholesale, you will report to the to the Finance Manager. You will be responsible for the execution of comprehensive general accounting and period closing activities and will support the General Accounting team through the accurate and timely execution of transactional processing activities such as posting standard journals, running reports and populating budget templates. In this role, your responsibilities will extend to extracting accounting data and reports to calculate, prepare and post mid month and month end journals being guided and supported by the Finance Manager and Accountants as necessary. You will perform initial reviews of the management reports to verify the integrity and accuracy of the data presented prior to review, processing adjustment journals and reporting any changes in a timely and accurate matter. In addition you will be responsible for preparing P&L and Balance sheet control account reconciliations highlighting and investigating material variances prior to detailed review by the Finance Manager/Accountant. Additional responsibilities will included working with the wholesale business team to prepare financial forecasts and budget submissions and helping the business team understand and interpret financial information. Assisting in the preparation of statutory accounts will also be a key responsibility of the role. To be successful in applying for this role, you should ideally have experience of working in a similar role and have commenced study with a professional accounting body such as CIMA,ACCA, ACA,CPA or AAT. You should have the ability to work with minimal supervision and deliver high quality work to tight deadlines and you should have a basic knowledge of core financial systems and general accounting procedures. You should be proficient in the use of MS Office, in particular Excel and have an in depth knowledge of ERP software (Oracle desirable). An awareness of current regulations including IFRS/ New UK GAAP and Companies Acts would be advantageous.
