Job Summary This is an exciting opportunity to work as an infrastructure engineersupporting our Cloud hosting platform. BAE Systems Applied Intelligencedelivers next generation communications and intelligence solutions forlaw enforcement agencies and compliance solutions for telecommunications companies. We are looking for an infrastructure engineer with experience insupporting both engineering infrastructure as well as developmentoperations. You will have the opportunity to accelerate delivery andimprove the quality of our products While your primary team will be a small group of InfrastructureEngineers and Architects, supporting our infrastructure across 4 or moreengineering sites, your work will also involve working closely with thevarious project and product teams around the organisation. Youll beinvolved with teams involved in the integration of existing and futuresystems, including Big Data technologies and cutting edge security andthreat detection systems. You will be based at the Guildford office in a flexible, friendly buttechnically challenging area of the business. Depending on your skills,there may also be the opportunity for client facing work, includinglocal and international travel. Key Responsibilities Maintain, improve, resolve problems on and automate engineeringinfrastructure, with a keen focus on our engineering customers needs. Successfully accelerate delivery by helping development teams help themselves. Metric driven and focused on continual improvement. (Process re-engineering). Plan and undertake environment provisioning for projects (eitherthrough cloud services or in consultation with infrastructure teams as appropriate). Mandatory Skills and Experience Required: 2-3 years experience working with Windows and Linux Operatingsystems, with demonstrable administrative and configuration skills. You should have a working knowledge of VMware vSphere and ESXi. You should have a working knowledge of networking, including VPNs, OSImodel, routing, VLANs, and firewalling. You should have a working knowledge of networked storage solutions You should have a working knowledge of database administration onsolutions such as MS SQL server or MySQL Exemplary team working and clear communication skills required theteam is rarely together in one place, and your customers are global! Good documentation skills and an attention to detail. Ansible, Puppet or other automation tool experience. Other Desirable Skills and Experience: Experience working with complex network topologies. Skills in provisioning systems in AWS, including VPC. Familiarity with EMC and/or Nimble storage solutions Containerisation tools such as Vagrant, Docker, Kubernetes. Cloud automation tools such as Openstack Monitoring/Alerting tools such as Nagios. Knowledge of Active Directory and IIS Familiarity with Apache web server administration or equivalent Familiarity with Atlassian JIRA and Confluence - provided by Dice ACTIVE DIRECTORY, APACHE, AWS, BIG DATA, CLOUD, DOCKER, ESXI, IIS, JIRA, LINUX, MYSQL, NAGIOS, PUPPET, SQL, SQL SERVER, WINDOWS
