Main Purpose of Job

To direct the finance and accounting functions across the business and manage cash flow and to ensure we continue to meet financial compliance requirements.

Main Responsibilities (this list is non-exhaustive)

Main Tasks: List of areas of responsibilities

Management of the finance function within the business.

  • Preparation of budgets, forecasts and cash flows;
  • Maintenance of financial ledgers and accounting processes;
  • Preparation of Monthly Consolidated P&L and Balance Sheet;
  • Timely production of statutory and internal financial reports;
  • Financial modelling and analysis;
  • Cash management and treasury duties;
  • Ensuring that appropriate systems and internal controls are implemented and maintained;
  • Overseeing the Payroll process;
  • Managing all supplier contracts;
  • Review of VAT returns;
  • To put in place systems to ensure improved performance;
  • To conduct appraisals for those in your team;
  • To ensure accurate records are maintained for Sickness and Holidays on staff squared for those who report to you;
  • To ensure all of those reporting to you have personal development objectives and an up to date PDP.

Knowledge, skills and experience required

Fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA (equivalent or very experienced) with previous financial control and management reporting experience;

  • You should be confident, a self-starter, with the ability to operate in a dynamic environment;
  • You must be able to demonstrate good attention to detail, good judgement showing logical decision making, and a hands on approach;
  • Computer literate with good excel skills and solid understanding of accounting software principles;
  • High degree of accuracy;
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise issues;
  • The ability to motivate and lead a team;
  • Initiative and enthusiasm;
  • Excellent communication and 'people skills';
  • Good planning and organisational skills;
  • Strong relationship management skills;
  • Demonstrates a 'can do? attitude.
