Every year, our team changes the lives of370,000 children, young people and families. We are looking for an exceptional Director of Technology to take ourhigh performing team to the next level. This is an exciting opportunityto get involved with the future development and leadership for allcurrent and future information systems (IS) within Action for Children. How youll make a difference: By providing overall responsibility for the effective and efficientmanagement and development of IS structures and systems to meet changesin demand and to anticipate future needs, through a continuous programmeof improvement of key IS systems. By managing and being accountable for revenue and capital budgets, andan effective cross-charge mechanism for IS costs. Ensure an effectivefinancial model is embedded for the IS department in accordance withBudget rules. By working with other Directors and to take specific responsibility forowning, driving and leading the development and implementation of Actionfor Childrens business strategy and to define and deliver an ISstrategy that supports it. By ensuring security arrangements are in place to effectively protectthe IT infrastructure. By leading and providing direction and management to a range ofprofessional staff ensuring effective communication, training andengagement of staff in IS issues, ranging from project roll outs,surveys and general information system performances. What youll need: Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent. To be ITIL Certified (or equivalent). Strong IT background gained through comprehensive understanding of ITtechnologies. Experience of delivering successful development and implementationsof systems within an organisation. Substantial demonstrable experience of providing leadership,innovation and direction in the development and implementation oforganisational IT strategy. Demonstrable experience in a senior-level information technologyleadership and management position- with a track record of success. Significant demonstrable experience of successfully managing anddelivering large scale IT programme development, implementation,management of large ICT contracts and change management. Understanding of and ability to work effectively with complexstrategic planning, business planning, and performance management Proven leadership qualities, someone who displays conviction has theability to carry people with them and who has experience of managingpeople at all levels through change. To be able to work collaboratively at all levels and acrossorganisations both internally and externally, especially managers, toassess the needs of users within the context of their business environment. How we reward you: The role is full time and based at Action for Childrens office inWatford with regular travel to London and throughout the UK.
