Our Client is a large, and growing, specialist land-based College, with centres throughout Yorkshire, Cumbria and the Tees Valley.
They currently have an opportunity available for a Lecturer in Animal Management to join them based at their Newton Rigg campus.
Within the role you will be required to contribute to programmes within the Animal Management Section and acting as a Programme Manager for specified programmes; planning and supervising the learning experience of their students and contributing fully to the promotion of and continued success of the College.
Assisting with the development of the curriculum within the Section, you must ensure all administrative responsibilities associated with lecturing are completed and participate in training and development courses, research, secondment and personal contact in order to keep up to date in technical and education expertise.
You must also carry out the responsibilities of a Lecturer and teach 860 hours per annum pro rata less any contact time that may be allocated to carry out designated duties.
Candidates for this role must be educated to level four in Animal Management or other relevant subject, hold level 2 qualifications in Numeracy and Literacy (or be willing to work towards these) and hold a Teaching Certificate or be committed to gaining one within a required time frame. With substantial experience of working within the animal management industry and of dealing with a wide range of customers and clients, you must be capable of taking responsibility and ownership for modules for which you are responsible and ideally hold programme management experience.
