A Global Asset Management firm who have an excellent reputation are looking to strengthen their London compliance department with the hire of a Legal Regulatory Development Consultant. The UK business includes equity, fixed income, multi asset and hedge funds products, with distribution via AIF's, UCITS and segregated accounts. The successful candidate will require a detailed understanding of the manufacture, governance and distribution of retail funds in the UK.


The role will help the Head of Compliance and the European business in managing regulatory risk. It will involve legal analysis and guidance around post implementation work on both MAR and MIFID II but also provide advice to upcoming regulation such as SMRC and GDPR. Also the role will involve looking at how Brexit will affect the firm and assisting with any organisational changes that may need to happen. Also you would be expected to get involved in creating the appropriate control frameworks for upcoming regulation.


The ideal candidate for this position would have a strong legal background which would include a law degree, Legal Practise Course and a minimum 4 years PQE. They would have strong skills in interpreting regulation within a Financial Services firm. If a candidate has come from an asset management background that is preferential but not essential. The candidate will also have strong attention to detail and proven stakeholder management experience.
