About the role
Application Support operates as the second line behind the Service Desk and operates primarily as software systems support to the business and it's customers. The team interfaces between business and technical departments throughout the life cycle of the incident or problem which includes initial investigation and categorisation of the problem, creating an initial work around, documenting the problem, managing the problem through software development, testing and full implementation and validation within the business.
The Application Support Analyst will be responsible for everyday system tasks and investigation of Business as Usual Problems and Incident Service Desk calls raised across the organisation and by operational business areas within the Application Support Team.
Treating Customers Fairly is a central part of the Financial Conduct Authority retail regulatory regime and an integral part of this role is to assist in delivering the six improved outcomes for consumers.
About the candidate
The Applications Support Analyst will have excellent problem and incident resolution/management experience together with an awareness of data security and data privacy. You will be an effective communicator and will be able to effectively liaise with and influence stakeholders.
The successful candidate will have a Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject (IT, Computing, Maths, accountancy) or extensive relevant experience and systems knowledge including extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and some understanding of database and SQL.
A background in the Financial Services Sector would be highly advantageous.
Any of the following would also be helpful: IT Helpdesk experience, Systems Analysis Risk Identification and Management, Regulatory Adherence, Execute user acceptance or system test script, experience of IBM iSeries
In return, you will receive a salary of between £22,000 and £25,000, profit related bonus scheme, 24 days annual leave, life assurance of four times your salary. On completion of the probationary period you can join the group pension plan and obtain up to a 6% match contribution into your pension plan.
