This role will be part of our Technical team and is a great opportunity for someone looking to specialise in Tax and gain experience of a multi-disciplinary environment including but not limited to VAT, Customs Duty, Corporation Tax and Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) Compliance. The role will be split between compliance and technical work. Key duties of the Tax Controls Analyst will be: Calculation, preparation and submission of Tax/VAT returns Deliver compliance duties as and when required, including completion of the UK/ROI Tax and VAT group company compliance To remain up to date with current legislation and consider the impact for the business Assist with the execution of the SAO testing plan including but not limited to regular reviews of expenses, accounts payable and receivable Assist the SAO Controller with the management of Customs Duty across the UK ensuring that import risk is minimised and the correct amount of duty is paid by the UK operation Assist the Tax Technical team with any responsibilities given including project related work Assist with Group Year End compliance work each year ensuring the strict deadlines are met Actively work to improve process frameworks and make control recommendations to the teams Ensure all statutory and legislative deadlines Provide VAT and Corporation Tax support where appropriate to meet statutory obligations As the successful applicant you will be: Degree qualified Looking to specialise and pursue a career in Tax A self-starter, self-confident, dependable individual who is adaptable with excellent attention to detail Capable of building relationships at all levels and ability to work within a team. Capable of interacting at all levels within the business Have excellent data interrogation skills and able to clearly explain complex issues Have excellent written, verbal and presentation skills Be a dynamic, personable and results driven individual Be organised & creative with excellent problem solving skills and possess the ability to think outside the box Prepared to travel where appropriate we have offices in Fareham, Nottingham & Guernsey You will be 'systems orientated' and hold good Excel skills.
