Role Profile The role of an Early Careers Project Manager is to harness the expertiseof our talented and highly experienced Programme Managers, ServiceDelivery Managers and Project Management Controlprofessionals tosuccessfully support the delivery of a mixture of business and technicalProjects, Programmes and IT Services.As an Early Careers Project Manager, you will have the opportunity toexperience the range of services we offer our clients. You wouldtypically operate across the entire project lifecycle and learn to takeaccountability for the successful delivery of various projects andservices by ensuring that high quality planning; control and assurancepractices are followed on all aspects of delivery.As an Early Careers Project Manager you could work across a number ofdisciplines within our business, these project roles could include:Planning, Monitoring & Control, Project, Programme & PortfolioManagement and Service Delivery Management. You will most likely startyour career working within our Planning, Monitoring & Control areaand then progress into other disciplines once you have learnt the basicsprinciples of project management. Project Role Descriptions Planning, Monitoring and Control - You will provide support to a localproject team within the business, focussing on portfolios, programmesand projects. As part of this assignment you will learn the skillsrequired to interpret and facilitate governance and reporting processes,project set-up and close down tasks as well as the management of projectfinance activities. As you develop as an individual, you will becomeresponsible for guiding and training other members of staff, whilesupporting a culture of delivery excellence.Project, Programme and Portfolio Management - You will play an activerole in supporting senior Project Management professionals in relationto mobilising teams as well as managing suppliers, contractors andassociates. As part of this assignment you will support and contributeto all phases of a project, gaining experience of managing projectsunder the guidance of senior project management professionals within thebusiness. You will identify risks and propose mitigations associated toprojects, while contributing to the execution of Project and Qualityplans. Stakeholder management is key to this assignment; you will beresponsible for providing high quality reports, while proactivelymonitoring costs, timescales and resources.Service Delivery Management - You will work closely with internalbusiness operations teams and external clients in order to identify andmanage service improvement activities. As part of this assignment youwill contribute towards the production of service reports, whilstmanaging any incidents or changes in the service and developing anin-depth understanding of associated service level agreements. You willplay a key role in the support of Service Delivery teams in regards toassessing, analysing, developing, documenting and implementing changeswithin the service. With support from senior Service Delivery Managementprofessionals, you will assist our pre-sales and commercials teams withbid work. In order tobuild a deep understanding of the challenges associated withinConsulting or Engineering based roles, as an Early Careers ProjectManager you may have the opportunity to work within a Consulting orEngineering role for a fixed period of time on client facing or internal engagements.You will be part of our Early Careers community and be provided with acareer mentor who will support and guide you throughout your career withus.
