iSupply Recruitment have partnered with an established Accountancy Practice based on the outskirts of Hitchin who are looking to recruit a Bookkeeper on a full time basis. The practice has a varied client base from a variety of industries and have grown through recommendation. They are based in a village location therefore own reliable transport essential (free car parking) Summary of role - Provide book keeping services mainly in-house but occasionally at client's premises. - Balancing accounts - Processing sales invoices, receipts and payments - Processing purchase invoices - Completing VAT Returns - Completing CIS Returns - Checking company bank statements and reconciling - Maintaining fixed asset registers - Preparing management accounts and supporting schedules. - Dealing with financial paperwork and filing - Being able to communicate at all levels - Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed Skills required - In depth knowledge of Sage - An ability to work quickly and accurately - An eye for detail - An ability to work to deadlines - An ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism - Good computer skills - in depth knowledge of Microsoft office - Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing in English - Must be able to keep client matters strictly confidential - Useful qualifications include specialist qualifications such as AAT for example Values - Integrity - be honest, consistent and transparent - Clients - the centre of what we do - Accountability - take responsible action - Innovation - find better ways - Simplify Benefits - Salary commensurate with experience - 28 days holiday (including bank holidays) - The ability to salary sacrifice a number of benefits will be discussed at interview - Support and funding available for further training.
