Title: Commercial Lawyer

We know about food!

Tulip Ltd is the UK's leading food solutions business, supplying all major food retailers, wholesalers and foodservice companies with a wide range of quality products. We provide consumers with a comprehensive range of products in four key mega-categories - fresh meat & sausage, bacon & gammon, cooked meat, and convenience & snacking. Our farm-to-fork operation is unique in the industry, while our strategic framework puts customers, product, efficiency and people at the heart of everything we do, all with a view to growing responsibly. As part of the Danish Crown Group, the largest pork provider in Europe and the biggest exporter of pork in the world, Tulip Ltd is well-placed to deliver its ambitious plans for sustainable growth. If you have an appetite for more, this could be the role for you.

The Company has recently undergone significant management changes, with a new CEO, Finance Director, HR Director and Head of Legal Services being appointed in the last 18 months.

The Company's focus is to embed a greater degree of corporate governance into the organisation, particularly in the area of procurement and to seek to standardise processes and forge greater links with its Danish parent company.

The company has a vacancy for a Commercial Lawyer to join its Head of Legal. The location of the role can be flexible, but the role will require 2/3 days per week from the head office in Warwick and travel to other company locations.

The role specifically includes:

* Working with Danish Crown to standardise terms and conditions where possible, share learnings and generate closer links between the two businesses.
* Supporting the procurement team to secure their goal of converting supplier relationships to Tulip standard terms and conditions.
* Negotiating and where necessary drafting supply contracts with customers and suppliers.
* Drafting and advising on amendments to standard terms and conditions.
* Drafting of bespoke purchasing agreements as required.
* Reviewing and drafting Non Disclosure Agreements.
* Advising on low level disputes.
* Dealing with general miscellaneous legal enquiries, including Data Protection issues.
* Candidates should also be willing to expand their knowledge base as required to support the business need.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years PQE (although candidates with less experience will be considered where appropriate) and will work alongside the Head of Legal. A strong commercial background is essential, combined with previous in house experience. The business is highly dynamic and requires a high calibre lawyer with a commercial down to earth approach to the wide variety of commercial issues seen by an in house legal team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate who has the confidence and skills to work independently, an ability to find creative solutions to problems, with excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to relate to clients at all levels of the business.
