Desktop Support Lead/Manager (Hands On) - London
The incumbent will be responsible for working across a broad range of technologies and liaises across multiple departments of the business to support incidents, problems and requests. Responsible for on- desk support and also answering IT requests via phone, email and explaining solutions in technical and nontechnical terms.

Key day to day responsibilities
*Ensure effective day-to-day running and operations of Server, Branch Network, Branch workstations and Printers.
*Ensure continuous availability of all IT systems installed at London Branch, STB Regulatory Application
*Symantec App - Malware Protection, VMWare
*Avaya Call recording, Patch Management
*Active Directory, Back up and Storage Management, File server
*Infrastructure components which includes routers, switches, UPS and firewall.
*Accomplish financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analysing variances; initiating corrective action.
*Maintain awareness of H.O. IT projects and capabilities.
*Responsible for the implementation and communication of IT security policies within the branch.
*Test maintain and update branch Disaster Recovery Plans.
*Provide the initial point of contact for all IT hardware and software suppliers of London based systems.
*Provide the first level of technical support for London branch staff, and call upon suppliers or Head Office support as necessary in accordance with defined procedures.
*Provide technical assistance/BCP consultancy during annual testing/invocation.
*Telephone systems - responsibility for the maintenance of the Avaya telephone systems and mobile phones and recording systems in coordination with local vendor/Group IT in H.O.
*Backup Desktop support engineer during his absence/leave. Build and install PCs, telephone systems, wireless networks and peripheral devices (such as printers, scanners, and mobile/smart phones) related to desktop infrastructure.
