Primary SEN Teaching Assistant (ADHD)
The school requires an ambitious graduate who has obtained a 2:1 or above in their Psychology degree, and ideally has some experience working with SEN children or vulnerable adults and ideally with ADHD, although it does not necessarily need to have been in a school setting. It is essential to have a real passion to work in education. The school therefore requires a graduate who has excellent communication skills and possesses a motivational, resilient attitude.

As a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant you will be supporting a boy going into Year 3, who has ADHD and a number of additional learning needs, assisting the class teacher with the organising, planning and preparation of lessons, as well as supporting the child with 1:1 activities. The boy can display challenging behaviour, so you will need to have resilience to keep him on task. Team Teach and Safeguarding training may be offered if you haven't had this already, to support you in your role, but also enhance your CV for your future career.

The school is based in central Leeds and is a hub of the local community. The leadership team have a proven track record of supporting graduates in Primary SEN Teaching Assistant roles with their career, with many successfully gaining places on PGCE or Educational Psychology courses the following year.

If you are an ambitious Psychology Graduate and think you have what it takes to succeed as a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant offering ADHD 1:1 support, apply to join this fabulous school in Leeds! Click apply to send your CV and covering letter to Amy at i-teachers.
