Support Engineer ? Northamptonshire

SMART METERING EXPERIENCE IS ESSENTIAL

My client is a mart leader within the manufacturing of SMART Meters and technology.

Key Deliverables

The Support Engineer is responsible for providing technical and integration support to new & existing customers and partners on all elements of Smart Metering from configuration of the end product through to end to end testing support and go live.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional with strong core technical skills to join and add value to a dedicated and friendly team.

Key Responsibilities

  • To attend meetings with potential Clients to determine technical and business requirements and ensuring that all necessary information is recorded and communicated internally
  • Attend customer sites to provide support
  • Provide technical solutions in a professional manner and to agreed timeframes
  • Create and confidently deliver technical presentations internally and externally
  • Deliver training on solutions and provide product support to customer and partners
  • Create internal design configuration documentation including network diagrams with technical explanations
  • Work with Product Management to feedback on issues with current products and provide input around new products
  • Builds productive relationships internally and externally, fostering teamwork by keeping colleagues updated on activities
  • Able to understand business drivers and risks involved to the customer and end consumer
  • Provide accurate and timely reports, to include - activity reports, meeting minutes, action trackers, status reports, KPI?s
  • Interface with internal and external teams articulating customer requirements, to ensure smooth transition from Sale to Delivery
  • Ability to demonstrate solutions effectively to audiences of varied technical knowledge
  • Support business development and tendering activities, including developing solutions and authoring responses

Candidate Profile

  • Experience from a similar role or in the energy industry desirable
  • Previous experience of requirements gathering and solution building
  • Previous experience of working with customers to support implementation
  • Knowledge of service delivery techniques in a commercial environment
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships internally at a variety of levels and work closely with commercial departments such as sales, operations and product development
  • Organised and analytical, able to eliminate obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches
  • Ability to cope under pressure and prioritise work accordingly
  • Full drivers licence and willingness to travel
  • Project management experience a distinct advantage
  • Self-starter, who can engage effectively with multiple stakeholders.
  • Technically minded quick learner

The following skills would be advantageous

  • Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Windows, Linux, Cygwin.
  • Experience with ZigBee
  • Experience with network diagnostics tools
