Position - Linux Analyst
Salary - 25 - 35K
Location - Winchester

My client in the Winchester area is looking for Linux Analyst to join their exciting growing business. The purpose of the role is to build and deliver technical solutions, products and services to meet the needs of customers and business goals.

Key responsibilities:

Install, test, analyse, troubleshoot and modify new equipment/solutions to achieve maximum performance and availability

Contribute to the development and deployment of service infrastructure, driving improved technical and service performance

Follow defined processes to facilitate smooth and seamless deployment of new services

Monitor the delivery of 3rd party suppliers and contractors to ensure that delivery specifications and standards meet my clients requirements

Standardise equipment to minimise disruption and achieve straightforward integration with existing networks/infrastructure

Document procedures and contribute to the continuous improvement of policies, processes and procedures

Apply standard procedures to solve problems and identify appropriate resolution

Essential skills needed:

Red Hat Certified System Engineer or equivalent experience
2nd line Linux Technical Support or IT Infrastructure background
Good working knowledge of Redhat Linux and related infrastructure, this includes but is not limited to:
-Posix operating systems (Redhat Linux 5/6/7, AIX4/5/6)
-Redhat Satellite v5/6
-Linux automation tools (Puppet/Ansible/Chef) in order of preference
Good IT technical troubleshooting skills
Understanding of Linux/Unix related industry initiatives
Good written and verbal communication skills
Good planning, prioritisation and delivery skills
Good planning and report writing skills
Ability to work in a busy, fast moving environment
Hold a current UK driving licence
