System Test Engineer to £35k Commutable from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling

Innovative and successful company specialising in the global telecoms market now needs an additional Systems Test Engineer to join their R+D Dept.

Key Responsibilities:

? Creating test plans from software and hardware product requirements
? Writing and executing both automated and manual tests to implement the test plans
? Executing system test cycles prior to product release
? ?Customer centric? testing encouraging a whole-team responsibility to product quality
? Recording test results and working with the design engineers to resolve issues
? Contributing to test methodologies and environment

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

? Educated to Degree level in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or equivalent
? Knowledge of test automation frameworks and programming/scripting using C#, Tcl or Python
Defect reporting methods and tools such as Bugzilla or JIRA
? Detail orientated with an ability to work closely with others in a multi-discipline team and respond to tight deadlines
? Strong willingness to learn the products and their application

Experience in any of the following areas will also be beneficial:

? Packet based timing and networking, OSI model, Ethernet packet structures
? Web based API protocols such as REST and HTTP
? Testing across different windows operating systems and Browsers (e.g. Firefox, Chrome, IE, Edge)Testing in an Agile design environment. Database administration with SQL
? Previous design verification test experience with the use of lab-based test equipment such as signal generators, spectrum analysers and frequency counters
