Job Title - Electrically Biased Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer

Location - Aylesbury

Salary -£29,500 rising to £31,000 after probation, plus overtime.

Shifts - 4 on 4 off (Days / Nights)

Holidays - 200 hours + 72 hours for Bank Holidays.

Training - Siemens S7 (levels 1, 2 & 3)

The Company

Our client manufacture plastic bottles for the drinks, cosmetics and FMCG markets across 7 manufacturing plants, on 5 sites. Normally positioned at the end users site, they will match production volumes and supply their bottle and containers in real time. Their Aylesbury site is attached to Europe's Largest Super Diary, which produces over 3 million pints of milk per day.

Their lines consist of seven injection blow moulding machines that are completely bespoke due to the unique shape of milk cartons. These seven lines produce 1 million bottles every day in 1, 2, 4 and 6 pints sizes, plus 1 and 2 litre sizes and Cravendale bottles as well. The production lines are full automated, with a storage facility capable of holding a buffer stock of 1400 trays of 100 bottles each to allow peaks in production.

The Role

The Electrically Biased Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer will be focused primarily on PPMs, which account for 90% of the work day to day. The PPM system is fully computerised, with a full Continuous Improvement program running to further reduce downtime.

Electrically the Electrically Biased Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer will be Fault finding on electrical components using both a multimeter and PLCs via HMIs, changing electrical components, running new cables and trucking, changing motors, sensors and thermocouples; plus Performing electrical safety checks as part of PPM schedule and checking trips and fuses.

Mechanically the successful candidate will be fault finding and changing mechanical components like Hydraulic pumps, hoses, cylinders and rams, valves, pneumatic cylinders and rams, hoses, valves and actuators, bearings, rollers, conveyors, slats, gearboxes, shafts, trunking, pumps and pipework, plastic pellet screw injectors, injector nozzles and vacuum transfer systems. There will also be Oil and filter changes, general greasing, strip down and rebuilding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems. No machining, welding or fabrication is required.

The Candidate

To be successful in your application you must have the following skills or attributes:

- Must have a recognised Electrical Qualification.
- Must have 16th or 17th Edition.
- Must have experience performing maintenance tasks on Electromechanical systems.

Thanks to their excellent training program and the bespoke nature of their lines, the client is able to take candidates with no experience within an automated manufacturing environment. As such they are keen to speak to candidates who are looking to break into an automated production, including candidates who have recently left the Armed Forces.
