Title: Commercial Finance Analyst Location: Liverpool Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 Post type: Permanent Client is a growing Education organisation, currently looking to appoint a new Commercial Finance Analyst. Reporting directly to the Head of Commercial Accounting. The successful candidate will have a key role in the preparation of detailed financial models to support new contract tendering, working with the Business Development team and other functions to ensure potential opportunities are robustly analysed. Main Responsibilities: Financial Modelling: * Build and develop Excel financial models to support bidding for new contracts including full cash flow forecasts. Models will need to be capable of allowing sensitivity analysis to enable strategic pricing and performance decisions to be made. * Models must be user friendly with detailed instructions and documentation. They must be structured and concise but sufficiently detailed to allow for a high level of scrutiny of business opportunities * Models must be able to perform profitability analysis based on project outputs, be fully secure and linked where necessary to source data from other workbooks. * Liaise with the Senior Management, Board Directors and the Business Development team to collate information for the design of business models. * Ensure the accurate and robust completion of customer bid spreadsheets to an exemplary standard * Train other Finance staff in the use of such financial models as appropriate Forecasts and Budgeting: * Preparation of periodic, long range forecasts and annual budgets using models capable of consolidating up to 200 cost centres. * Liaise with the Management Accountants to ensure processes and models are understood. * Work with the Management Accountants to prepare periodic forecasts, focusing on the consolidation and analysis of variances to previous projections. Other Duties: * Support the Head of Commercial Accounting and Financial Controller in responding to ad-hoc commercial analysis required by our customers and other stakeholders. * To support the Financial Controller and Head of Commercial Accounting in continually embracing emerging technology to enhance the operation of the department * To ensure that the ethos of continuous improvement exists within the Management and Commercial Accounts function by reviewing the quality and relevance of the output of the department and reviewing procedures routinely, working with management to implement to the most efficient and effective methods for the business Successful Candidate: * Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA * High energy and dynamic individual * Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to communicate and influence people at all levels within the business * Experience in developing models for periodic and long range forecasting as well as the annual budgeting and strategic review process.
