A large manufacturer working within the pharmaceutical sector are seeking an Automation Technician to join their team in Laindon, Essex. If you have experience designing PLC based electrical control systems from design specification using PLC, Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi or similar, then you may be the Technician we're looking for.
What will you be doing?
As an Automation Technician, you'll be responsible for designing PLC based electrical control systems from design specifications whilst working within the electrical and automation department. You'll have the ability to program PLCs, as well as work on commissioning and fault finding, whilst applying knowledge of SCADA systems. You'll be comfortable working collaboratively with others and will display confidence when supporting and servicing work at customers' sites.
Your role will be a mixture of site and field based work, made up of 25% on clients sites for installation and commissioning and 75% based on site completing design work.
What skills/experience should you have?
- Experience working on PLC programming with knowledge of at least one of the following: Siemens, Allen Bradley, Schneider or similar
- Ability to fault find, work on electrical control systems, PLC and hardwired systems
- Knowledge of integrating ancillary equipment into production lines such as vision SCADA systems
Although not an essential requirement of the role, if you have previous industry experience working within automation, production, manufacturing, conveyor belt manufacturing, robotics or pharmaceuticals, then this may benefit your application.
