Working as part of the Application Packaging and Test Team this role is focussed on improving our vulnerability and patch management processes. The Aviva ?SOE? desktop estate (Standard Operating Environment) covers over 28,000 machines globally and is expanding. Maintaining software patching and vulnerability management is a key part of our security strategy, keeping Aviva safe.
The Application Packaging and Test Team is part of Workplace Operations, providing software solutions and testing support for Aviva?s Desktop and Laptop estate. Application Packaging is a key component in the software delivery and support lifecycle for SOE. Packaging and Test manage a large software catalogue of over 1,300 applications and are responsible for the ongoing management, evolution and troubleshooting of the application estate. The Test function works closely with all teams in Workplace Operations to maintain a high standard of delivery for Group Policy Object (GPO), OS build processes and Security Patch releases.
Application Management and Test is a small team with wide ranging technical skills in delivering and maintaining an enterprise scale desktop estate. The role is based in Norwich but some travel may be required due to the size of the estate.
You will be required to assist the Application Management and Test Manager in providing a high standard of consultancy and governance in supporting the Aviva SOE estate. With experience working in a large-scale corporate IT environment, with a broad understanding of Microsoft Windows networks and operating systems you will play a key role in delivering our award-winning service. An inquisitive logical thinker, with strong data analysis skills, you will have proven problem determination experience and a background of defining and documenting standards and processes. A keen team player, you will demonstrate the drive to own your own work and help others maintain a high level of service and quality.
Duties & Responsibilities
?Managing application and system patching, analysing vulnerabilities and mitigating against impacts
?Data analytics with timely, concise and insightful reporting skills
?Managing service protection activities
?Leading creation of deployable software content for the Aviva managed desktop estate within accepted measure
?Verifying software licence requirements and entitlement for in scope software products
?The management of incidents relating to application packaging process and products
?Planning, communicating and processing software pilots for new software, ensuring software conflicts and business impacts are analysed and minimised
?The management and delivery of software retirement and rationalisation
?Lead service improvement plans, in line with strategic direction
?Contribute to and be accountable for team performance
?Plan own workload and determine when issues should be escalated to a higher level in conjunction with your immediate manager
?Manage request fulfilment through Aviva?s service ticketing system with regular, meaningful update

?Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM ?Current Branch?)
