1st / 2nd Line / Mobile Desktop Support Engineer – Contract – York – 3 Months
My client based in York are currently looking for a contract 1st / 2nd Line - Mobile Desktop Support engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing face to face & remote 2nd line support to business users, where the Service Desk have progressed the respective incident or request as far as they can. Where the incident or request requires the engineer to attend the user in order to rectify or remedy the incident/request, then they are responsible for attending site with all of the necessary equipment and spares required.
The Mobile Desktop Support engineer is responsible for carrying out laptop and desktop replacements across the group in line with the replacement strategy.
The Mobile Desktop Support engineer is responsible for liaising with Asset and Configuration Management, in order for assigned assets to be provided to the correct Business User with the appropriate licenced software included.
In addition to the other duties, which are mainly reactive, the Mobile Desktop Support Engineer may be called upon to perform desktop patch management activities and providing support for projects, including testing.
Due to the nature of the role there will be potential engagement with senior company executives, so excellent communication and presentation skills are required.
This role will require travel to other sites with some overnight stays. During project rollouts and implementation work there may be the need for occasional weekend work.
·Extensive knowledge of 1st / 2nd Line Support and Desktop roll outs
·Knowledge of Windows 7 and above
·Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange
·Knowledge of Active Directory
·Any experience with SCCM would be useful
