Secondary SEN Teacher - SLD class (KS4) January start 'Outstanding' Ofsted 130 - 160 daily rate Excellent on-site facilities specifically adapted to suit the needs of SEN students Based in Lewisham - on site parking available A Primary SEN school based in Lewisham are currently looking to appoint a primary specialist SEN teacher to start in January. This SEN teacher position will be to plan and deliver sessions across the curriculum for students with severe learning difficulties (SLD). There are currently 3 SLD classes on site and the school has an amazing training scheme and support structure in place so encourages applications from NQTs and experienced practitioners. As a SEN teacher you will complete 1:1 support for students including assisting in personal care tasks (feeding, changing, toileting etc.). This SEN teacher position will be within a KS4 class and therefore strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and the EYFS framework is essential as children will be working across an adapted version of both. We are looking for a SEN Teacher who: 1 years' experience in a UK secondary or SEN school Has experience teaching SLD students Ability to differentiate sessions to suit all students needs Experience using PECs and Makaton (preferable but not essential) Has QTS This is a large SEN school based in Lewisham and has excellent transport links as well as on-site parking for all staff. Due to the nature of the children, the school uses an adapted version of the national curriculum which aims to develop student's motor skills, cognitive development and social skills alongside encouraging independence and developing academic knowledge. Each classroom is designed to suit the needs of their pupils and all SLD classes have access to the sensory garden and hoists. All staff will be required to undertake safeguarding training and the school offers a huge amount of additional CPD to ensure staff are constantly upskilled in relation to supporting and teaching SEN students.
