C++ Developer (AIX) - Remote Working

My client, an IT managed services organisation are seeking a AIX Developer on an 11 week contract basis. The successful candidate will help to design, develop and implement the AIX Monitor of the client's Systems Management product, Maximise.

Key Duties & Responsibilities;

  • Design, develop and implement new AIX Monitor interface workflow and features. 60%
  • Troubleshoot and fix any defects identified. 15%
  • Participate in architecture, design and code reviews. 15%
  • Create unit and automated tests. 10%

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities;

  • 5+ years designing and developing AIX Tools (essential)
  • C\C++ (essential)
  • Socket usage & protocol development (essential)
  • AIX Admin (desired)
  • Application Management & Error Investigation Skills(desired)

Specialised Skills;

  • Must be - A self-starter, used to working in small teams, innovative and multi-skilled with the vision to imagine the art of the possible, able to work without the formal rigour of a documented design in the early days of developme nt.
  • Must have - Experience AIX Systems Management.
  • Must have - Networking skills.
  • Must have - Experience designing and implementing responsive designs.
  • Must have - Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
  • Nice to have - Experience of iSeries
  • Nice to have - Experience with build tools and version control repositories.
