DevOps Engineer (Windows, DevOps PowerShell DSC TeamCity Octopus Deploy Puppet IIS Apache Tomcat Tom Cat Server Digital Web Applications Banking Finance) required by my banking client in London. You must have the following:

  • Current experience as an Engineer in a DevOps environment
  • Windows Server
  • Linux (ideally Red Hat)
  • Advanced scripting in PowerShell for automation of tasks, reporting and deployment
  • IIS and Apache or Tomcat webservers
  • Puppet

The following would be desirable:

  • Finance or banking
  • Release of in-house build digital .NET web applications (DevOps)
  • Monitoring - Nagios / Icinga
  • The Atlassian Suite (Jira, Stash, Confluence)
  • Cloud - AWS or Azure

Role: DevOps Engineer within a centralised team for a medium sized bank in London. In this DevOps team of 6, you will be responsible for the continuous integration and deployment of over 450 internally-facing applications.

Tools in place include PowerShell DSC, Puppet, Octopus Deploy, TeamCity, Jenkins, the Atlassian suite (Jira, Stash, Confluence), Nagios / Icinga. You will work on projects such as the continued centralisation of DevOps from departmental IT teams, implementing new applications; automating and upgrading existing applications. The applications sit on Windows Server, IIS, Apache, TomCat and SQL servers. You will have strong experience with using PowerShell DSC or Puppet for automating and configuring software and strong scripting for automation in PowerShell.

As the department grows, you will be given the opportunity to grow into a senior or lead role. You will be involved in the choosing or new tools and technologies to improve an already modern department.

Upcoming projects include the migration of services to AWS; Nagios to Icinga migration and a datacentre move. The company offer sponsorship for training and certifications.
