Our client a FTSE250 Industry Leading organisation seek to hire an experienced SQL Server DBA to work on a permanent basis in their new London offices.

The SQL Server DBA is responsible for the planning, implementation and support of all database platforms, and extends to corporate IT applications, development and web hosting environments.

Key responsibilities:

  • Meet with technical team members to gather and analyse database requirements
  • Design and implement database solutions to satisfy application requirements
  • Install, configure and test new instances and versions of MSSQL
  • Assisting in creation of SSIS packages and scripts / processes to automate data migration tasks
  • Monitor servers for any performance issues, troubleshooting where necessary to provide fast and reliable query responses to end-users
  • Performance monitoring and tuning of stored procedures ? assisting developers in optimizing their critical stored procedures
  • Design and implement appropriate maintenance plans
  • Monitor and control access permissions and privileges to ensure database security and integrity are maintained
  • Develop, manage and test back-up and recovery plans

The successful SQL Server DBA will possess the following skills and experience:

  • MSSQL Server 2008R2/2012+ database administration both on premise and in cloud
  • SQL optimization, performance monitoring and tuning
  • Troubleshooting and resolving database problems
  • Database migration (Migration experience to Azure would be of distinct interest)
  • Performance tuning and optimization using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
  • Database backups, restores and recovery models
  • High Availability and Disaster Recovery options for MSSQL Server
  • Index management and statistics
  • T-SQL code objects
  • DTS/SSIS packages and processes
  • MYSQL database administration including database backup and replication knowledge
  • Knowledge of the Windows Server environment, including Active Directory, networking and disk configurations
