Salary: £30,000 to £38,000 DOE

PURPOSE OF JOB:
Our client is one of the largest suppliers to UK retail of chilled own label and branded food and as a result of continued expansion they are looking to strengthen their highly innovative and creative product development department with a NPD Manager at their site based in Nottingham.

The NPD Manager will be required to innovate new products and processes, maintaining and extending existing ranges and delivering new products and processes for their customers within this chilled category. The successful Development Manager will be responsible for managing, motivating and inspiring the NPD team, ensuring creative and innovative products are continually presented.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
1.To develop high quality concepts and products from concept to launch. Proactively identify new market opportunities and ways to exploit and increase sales of core business
2.Bring innovation and creativity to the team through core skills. Work with marketing to understand evolving consumer needs, inspiring others through food, industry and consumer knowledge. Champion for quality, competitiveness and product innovation
3.To work closely with marketing, process team and factory team to deliver from concept to launch all new projects, innovating new products and processes to maintain and extend current ranges, and to deliver new products and processes outside of current range
4.Manage new product development to adhere to target margins, technical and factory requirements
5.Delivers development ahead of the competitors through understanding the wants and needs of both internal and external customers. Use category management principles in guiding product design.
6.Ensure a consistent level of quality to ensure factory teams develop a culture of product quality, visual look and feel and passion to be the best
7.Drive and attend regular taste panels to evaluate internal quality and benchmark external competitors to drive continuous improvement
8.Challenge existing product quality internally and proactively implements new standards of excellence within the business
