My client, a market leading international Engineering and Environmental Consultancy, is searching for a Principal Hydraulic Modeller to join an expanding Water and Environmental Team based in Exeter.

It is essential that applicants have a strong MSc and/or BSc in Civil Engineering or Hydrology and have achieved or are close to achieving Chartered Status.

Applicants are are required to have experience working within UK based Consultancy or Local Authority mentoring and training team members and managing and completing Environmental, Flood Risk, Surface Water and Hydraulic Modelling Projects for Private and Public Sector Clients.

Applicants are required to have technical experience specialising in Flood Risk, Flood Estimation, Surface Water, Water Framework Directive Assessments and Hydraulic Modelling using Flood Modeller Pro or Tuflow.

Applicants are required to have the drive to manage projects, check technical designs and provide technical advice to the Flood Risk Team. It is also beneficial for applicants to have experience preparing bid proposals and developing new business opportunities with both Public and Private Sector Clients.

This exciting Principal role will primarily involve supporting and managing Projects for the Flood Risk Team in Exeter. Candidates will be required to complete varied Hydrological, Surface Water, Flood Risk and Hydraulic Modelling Projects for Private Sector Clients, Local Authorities and Water Companies.

As a Principal Consultant you will be required to complete technical work including Flood Risk Assessments for Planning Applications, Water Framework Directive Assessments, Environmental Impact Assessments, Flood Estimation, Hydrological Assessments, Surface Water Management Plans, Catchment Management Plans and Hydraulic Modelling, Model Build and Verification using Flood Modeller Pro and Tuflow.

Candidates will also be required to prepare bid proposals, manage projects, develop new business opportunities, mentor team members and provide technical advice to the team.
