We are seeking a Mobile Communications Administrator to join this busy team based in Birmingham.

About the role

We are now looking for a highly motivated individual to join our multi skilled team as a Mobile Comms Administrator.

This role is to work within a team that supports the day to day running of the Birmingham City Council telephony network. It will involve processing requests for new telephony services and assisting with changes to existing services. There will also be a requirement to analyse end user requests to identify their telephony needs and offer a suitable solution. An intermediate level understanding of telephony is required for this role.

The role will be providing support for all mobile telephony services supplied to BCC. The team currently manage a variety of mobile handsets and solutions including iOS, Windows Mobile and Android. There are currently 8000 connections that the team manage.

What you will do:

  • Assist in the delivery of mobile service requests within SLA via the ServiceNow work queue

  • Assist in the allocation and control of mobile equipment, services and facilities

  • To maintain records and databases in respect of equipment & services in use by BCC

  • To assist in the management of the mobile recycling process

  • Liaise with customer and assist with the return of surplus handsets

  • To manage 3rd party suppliers in order to provide high standard of service delivery & support

  • Liaise with customer in order to provide advice and support

Your experience will include:

  • Ability to proactively identify service improvements.
  • Good technical skills in MS Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Awareness of voice and mobile networks
  • Experience of working with 3rd party suppliers
  • Providing a high standard of customer support
  • Reporting and billing analysis
