Financial Controller (PE-backed business)
Salary c. £50,000
Our client is a service-led business within a growing market and enjoying exponential growth. Having been acquired in a private equity deal, the business is looking for a robust, commercial and hands-on Financial Controller, playing a key role in the continued growth of the business and supporting the Finance Director on a daily basis.
The role would suit an FD of the future - someone who is willing to put in the hard yards, learn from some outstanding individuals around them and be focused on delivering a great job.
This appointment, reporting to the Finance Director, will be accountable for the following:
Ensuring that the company has the means and resources to deliver the Board's business plan;
Production of the monthly board pack to include detailed management accounts and analysis;
Provision of KPIs and commercial intelligence to aid the board in its decision-making;
Close control of company financial resources, constantly looking for areas of improvement to both the working capital cycle and the bottom line;
The running of the accounts department team;
Maintaining good relations with the external stakeholders including banks, auditors, key suppliers and customers.
The candidate's experience
You will have a good working knowledge and can demonstrate experience of the following:
Ideally qualified (ACMA/ACA/ACCA);
An understanding of the issues facing an engineering or manufacturing business with the ensuring conventions around WIP;
Experience of developing and integrating systems and processes to provide accurate billing, margin and cost information;
An ability to challenge established systems and influence key stakeholders in a change process;
An ability to influence non financial managers in cost control and cash management;
Strong attention to detail & a "completer-finisher";
Preferably management experience.
