Elevation Accountancy & Finance are currently recruiting a assistant management accountant on behalf of a Financial Services business in Leeds city centre. The role will provide technical and accounting support to UK Accounting Team Leader and produce required reports and analysis in line with monthly and yearly accounting timetable.

This role would provide the successful applicant with a fantastic opportunity to become a key part of the accounts team. You will be responsible for assisting with monthly management accounts with a number of monthly overhead reports, balance sheet reconciliations and assist with the month end accounts. This will be a varied and fast paced job role which will require you to manage a busy workload and prioritise to ensure deadlines are met.

My client feels this position would best suit a CIMA or ACCA part qualified accountant who has a strong grounding in management accounting. You will ideally have had exposure to applying these skills within a Financial Services environment although open to considering candidates who can demonstrate the appropriate experience if it is gained within a different industry.

Duties and Resposibilities:

*Produce 1st draft flash and management accounts submissions for UK Accounting Team Leader review
*Produce budget variance analysis for cost centre managers and as support to UK Finance Team for UKLT pack, commentary and budget preparation
*Maintain all UK company accruals and prepayments schedules and ensure they are reconciled to SAGE accounting records, provide fair and true reflection of costs matched to the period they relate and are fully justified by supporting documentation
*Meet all external reporting deadlines for statutory obligations in terms of HMRC requirements on P11D, P60, PSA, VAT, P14 and P35. Ensure all reporting is accurate and in line with HMRC guidance
*Provide support to UK Accounting Team Leader in respect of all processing associated with the production of the UK budget, rolling forecasts and also cost centre manager meetings
*Produce monthly Financial Control Framework Reports and required supporting reconciliations for all UK companies as part of monthly balance sheet control process
*Maintain all processes and reports for a variety of tasks including: bank reconciliations, valuation of internal time, employee level salary/bonus/personnel variance analysis, and UK inter-company matrix reconciliation
