A fantastic opportunity has arisen with my Tamworth based client, you will get to work with the latest Microsoft technologies in a small, friendly team.


Responsibilities

·Effectively maintaining a complex, high-demand IT infrastructure and all the peripheral devices connected to it ensuring high availability and quality service.
·To design, propose, initiate and lead major infrastructure projects, and have ownership throughout the process
·Ensuring that all works are carried out with careful planning, documenting all the steps committed, from day-to-day operations via a ticketing system, to utilising project management software keeping track of major network upgrades


Requirements

·Experience of IT support preferably in a SME environment
·Able to produce documentation of all activities
·Auditing and inventorying all IT assets, producing a snap-count of devices on demand
·Good communication skills speaking supporting personnel at varying degrees of knowledge at all levels within the company
·The ability to identify areas for improvement and subsequently producing proposal documentation to support changes/upgrades
·The willingness to occasionally work around business hours for major works to ensure business continuity
·Microsoft Server 2003, 2008, 2016 - Understanding of key server subsystems and roles. Installation and configuration of new servers, transferring server roles and decommissioning old ones when required
·Hyper-V - Good working knowledge of Hypervisor technologies in a live company environment.
·Active Directory - User account creation, troubleshooting. Comfortable using ADSIEdit to resolve AD user issues. Good understanding of File Shares, folder redirection and user accounts
·Group policy - creating a logical, well defined structure of GPO's for security and custom user experiences between different company departments/OU's
·AntiVirus - Experience of Centralized AV Enterprise consoles. Ensuring all company workstations and laptops are up to date and patched. Being proactive with potential security issues and having a well-rehearsed procedure mitigating security issues.
·Office365 - experience of using o365 in a working environment. Maintenance and troubleshooting using the relevant technical expertise when required. In-Depth troubleshooting and configuration experience of AADsync
·DHCP, DNS - experience of creating new IP ranges, DNS Host records. Good understanding of IP Subnetting, Adding exclusion ranges.
·Switches - Good In-depth knowledge of the concepts of a Multi-VLAN environment. Inter-VLAN routing.
·Server Backups - Knowledge and use of System Center Data Protection Manager
