An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a growing boutique media business as a Finance Assistant. This is a newly-created role that reports directly to the Finance Manager. The successful candidate will have experience in completing day-to-day bookkeeping, VAT returns and year-end adjustments, as well as experience using the accounting software Xero. Job Description: - Daily cash and credit control management and reporting. - Ensuring the daily postings are done in a timely manner and accurately. - Updating purchase ledgers, sales ledgers and general ledgers daily. - Bank reconciliations. - Assisting in the preparation of statutory accounts. - Raising sales invoices and assisting in monitoring and cashing debtors and producing daily/weekly debtors report. - Preparation of routine and ad hoc management reports. - Assisting in the preparation of semi-annual and annual investor reporting. - Liaising with the Finance Manager to assist with the annual audit process. - Preparation of quarterly VAT Returns for review by the Finance Manager. Skills/Experience: - Experience of using Xero accounting software essential. - Experience on all aspects of company accounting including VAT returns, payments, banking arrangements, statutory accounts preparation, management accounts preparation and audit. - Ability to work on own initiative, prioritise work and handle pressure. - Commitment to and understanding of team work and collaborative working. - Commercially astute and able to effectively communicate complex financial data and information to managers with non]financial expertise. - Highly motivated self]starter with high attention to detail and accuracy. - Excellent computer skills, particularly Excel.
