A fantastic opportunity has arisen for someone with a proven track record in sales including specific experience of campaign management and selling into the MoD or into other customers in the defence sector in the UK and overseas.

The incumbent will report to the Head of Naval C4ISR Systems Sales Business Area (SBA) and can be based at Southampton, Basildon or Bristol.

A market leading defence & security prime are now seeking a Sales & Marketing Manager (Naval C4ISR) to join their team. This position has the flexibility to be based out of Southampton, Basildon & Bristol, yet will be expected to spend significant time at the sites in Basildon & Southampton. This is a permanent opportunity with a competitive salary of up to £60,000 per annum (dependant on experience) + fantastic company benefits. Due to the nature of the work, all applicants must be able and willing to obtain SC clearance.

The main purpose of this role is to ensure that the annual order intake budget is achieved and to support the Head of Naval C4ISR Systems in respect of major business Ccmpaigns and the development of Business Segment strategy.

The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining regular contact with key customer groups in industry and the UK MoD including DE&S, JFC, DSTL and Navy Command HQ (NCHQ), in addition to identifying and prioritising sales opportunities for Naval C4ISR Systems and maintaining an accurate account of prospects, campaign plans and POAPs.

Skills Required

  • Ideally educated to Degree level or equivalent in the field of Engineering, Marketing or Sales.
  • An engineering or technical understanding is desirable to support the company's development of complex Naval ISTAR multi-sensor suites incorporating radar, EO, IR and SASS technology.
  • A proven track record of success as a salesman in the Defence sector in the UK and / or overseas or be a high quality candidate with specialist domain knowledge (e.g. a recent Service leaver).
  • Direct experience and knowledge of appropriate UK & Overseas Defence customers will be an advantage. DE&S, NCHQ and JFC are particularly relevant.
