OVERVIEW:

My client, a large international automotive supplier is looking for an experienced Category Manager to provide direction in the development and management of the strategic raw materials and associated subcontract activities.


THE ROLE

-As part of the category management team, continually review the supplier base to recommend strategic supplier relationship initiatives in line with the current and evolving needs of the business.
-Provide guidance with regard to best practice procurement, analysis of the supply chain, and identification of potential risk and risk mitigation options.
-Participate in negotiations relating to all contractual matters with existing and potential suppliers.
-Develop and manage Contract Management Plans in partnership with all relevant stakeholders.
-Work with Technology to identify new suppliers and materials that provide a performance andcommercial advantage.
-Develop clear and consistent communication processes internally and externally for each category in collaboration with the Supply Chain teams across the division.
-Using available tools to monitor and analyze data and provide business wide updates on market trends, potential risks and opportunities for each category assigned.
-All activities to be completed in accordance with the client's approved processes.
-In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by the supervisor/manager from time to time, as may be reasonably requested of them.


THE CANDIDATE

-Strong Procurement background
-Automotive experience
-Engineering/manufacturing background
-CIPS qualified
