OverviewWe are currently recruiting for a Garment Technologist to focus on our Kidswear ranges for Mountain Warehouse and Zakti. We are looking for a passionate, hands-on, multi-talented individual who will grow with the company and add value to our team.

Mountain Warehouse was launched in 1997 and our mission has always been to provide great quality, great value outdoor clothing and equipment. We are passionate about the great outdoors which is why we design a wide variety of clothing and equipment including menswear, womenswear, kidswear, ski gear, camping equipment and sportswear, allowing everyone to make the most of being outside and partake in a wide range of activities.

We are rapidly growing with over 280 stores in the UK, Ireland, Germany, Poland, US and Canada and this quick growth means we are looking to expand our busy London based head office team.

What you'll be doingManaging the fit process from development through to production.Manage the overall quality across multi-product, ensuring the quality standards meet our customer and business expectations.Working closely with buyers and suppliers to making sure that samples meet the desired design aesthetic from initial concept through to productionOrganize fit meetings with Buying teams in which you will pro-actively advise on areas of construction, fit and fabric/ yarn suitabilitySending out detailed fit comments in a timely manner to suppliers and manufacturers so that delivery schedules are kept and key deadlines are met.Compiling new specs, grade product specs and establish blocks.Liaise with suppliers to aid technical knowledge, improve product, technical issues etc.Carry out garment risk assessments to ensure fabric performance and garment meets childrenswear legal standards as well as meeting our customer’s expectations, approve test reports and conduct wearer trials were appropriate.Ensure that in house testing is enacted and all testing procedures are adhered to.Work over 2 main seasons A/W and S/S.Communicate with AB’s to ensure that the tech sheets are accurate and up to date with regards to style details, size specification and garment construction.Develop strong relationship with team membersWe would love to meet someone withExperienced garment technologist with a minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role.A relevant qualification in Textiles or Fashion at Degree or equivalent levelKnowledge of working across different product areasA working knowledge of childrenswear legal requirementsExceptionally organized and methodical approach to work, driven by the detail and able to work in a demanding, fast paced environment.Liaising with offshore production, suppliers and factories and participating the quality control process.Ability to work to critical path deadlines.Exceptional organization, time management and prioritizing skills.Excellent practical knowledge of functionality of garmentExtensive knowledge of fitting, grading and garment constructionA good knowledge of yarns, fabrics and testing procedure.Fully understand customer needs and demands (e.g. price, quality, fit).Good interpersonal skills – able to build and manage relationships with colleagues and suppliers, communication is key at all times.A team player who is also capable of working on their own initiativeIllustrator and Photoshop skills an advantageComputer literate MS Word and ExcelExcellent attention to detail
