Position: Financial Accountant
Term: 12 Month Fixed-Term Contract

Our Client; a very successful and large Tier 1 Automotive supplier of components with multiple UK and Global manufacturing sites, supplying Hard Trim components to the industry, with major customers like Jaguar Land Rover and many other major OEM?s. With multiple new vehicle program?s underway, we are tasked now with trying to find a competent Financial Accountant who has previously worked within a manufacturing environment, on a 12-month fixed term contract basis, to join the team in Merseyside.
On offer to the successful candidate will be a competitive, albeit negotiable, basic salary which will be based upon relevant skill-set, together with a full and comprehensive benefits package.
Reporting to the Plant Financial Controller, you will be responsible for supporting the Plant Finance Team in controlling, reconciling plant costs and the auditing of internal controls. You will go on to provide support, ensuring that all plant statutory reporting requirements are met with high standard Balance Sheet reconciliations and SOX audits.
Additional Accountabilities will include:
-Launch costs: Control and report all plant launch costs. Prepare a detailed monthly launch cost analysis and work with the launch team to develop accurate forecasts.
-Month End procedures:
Accrual preparation for overhead expenditure and input into SAP.
-Detailed analysis of overhead expenditure v budget and forecast with comments.
-Liaise with department managers to validate reported costs prior to month end close and reclass incorrect bookings.
-Support to the Finance team for journal entry into SAP and Lotus notes
-Improve quality of Management Information overhead expenditure:
-Ensuring all Operational Managers have the financial data to enable them in make informed Operational decisions.
-Maintain SAP asset register, liaise with Engineering to ensure all assets are tagged and the correct documentation retained. Perform asset audits in accordance to Company procedures.
Balance Sheet Reconciliations:
-Complete high-quality balance sheet reconciliations in accordance to Company requirements.
Revenue and Expenditure Reconciliation for International business:
-Reconcile throughout the month the revenue and expenditure of Brazil business.
-Analysis and investigation of overdue invoices.
-Perform SOX audits in accordance to Company procedures.
Non-Production Purchase Orders:
-Work closely with the Financial Shared Service and plant personnel to ensure all costs are covered with approved purchase orders and produce a monthly KPI by department to highlight un-authorized spend.
-Requests, scanning, invoice/statement request and general support to the Plant and FSSC teams.
Qualifications & Experience ideally required:
-Should ideally, as a minimum, be a Part Qualified Accountant (CIMA) or full AAT.
-Should possess a high standard of knowledge on SAP.
-Should be experienced in SOX Internal Audits.
-Should certainly have experience of working in a Manufacturing environment, better still an Automotive one.
-Should be hands-on, confident, with strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills.
-Should be highly flexible and adaptable with the ability to work as an individual or as part of a team and to work on their own initiative when required.
-Should have good skills in MS Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP?s and other standard financial excel formulas.
-Not essential, but any experience you have of AS400 ERP or Hyperion would be very useful.
