We are recruiting for a truly unique opportunity with a global leader in the financial services arena, This is an opportunity to join a growing and evolving team in a newly created position where you can truly shape the role. You will be one of the first members of this team in Edinburgh! This role sits within the Financial Crime Threat Mitigation (FCTM) team and focuses on the specific financial crime threats the firm faces now and in the future, pioneering the techniques and technology that protect the business, and its customers. Role responsibilities include (detailed spec available for suitable candidates): • The identification, analysis and implementation of requirements for new capabilities used by FCTM and Group Risk Analysis (GRA), and providing the tooling allowing technically capable users to assess and analyse financial crime and reputational risk for all of the Bank’s clients leveraging datasets in the scale of multi-billions of records • This will require close and productive working relationships with the IT platform team, FCTM and GRA (Group Risk Analysis) on a Hadoop a platform serving hundreds of analysts and wider non-technical stakeholders. We're looking for (detailed spec available): • Strong knowledge of the external environment – including regulatory, political, competitors • Understanding of at least one of the following languages for data analysis and an awareness of others: Python, SAS, R, Matlab • SQL skills or a demonstrable ability to learn SQL quickly from previous experience • Experience of a multiuser, large scale analytic platform as a user or platform analyst • Financial services industry knowledge • Extensive experience gathering requirements and conducting design activity, with a mix of business, operations and technology focused projects • Effective communication, inter-personal and negotiating skills • Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders and business sponsors.
