We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic technician to join our School of Motor Vehicle here at Milton Keynes College. You will be an inspiring and motivated person who can provide excellent support to our students.

As a technician within the school of Motor Vehicle, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the practical areas. Our technicians provide technical support to teaching staff and to learners by assisting them in providing outstanding teaching and learning practices.
The Technician will provide resources appropriate for sessions, support during sessions and ensure that training and assessment opportunities for learners are maximised. You will have a motor vehicle background and solid all-round knowledge within the automotive industry.

The School of Motor Vehicle at Milton Keynes College is attracting an increasing number of students studying for their chosen career in the automotive sector. We are looking for a technician to support the practical elements of our courses and develop the independent application of these practical technical skills in our students.
The College has the ambition, the expertise and employer links that support the development of a growing curriculum and we are looking for a dynamic and passionate individual to join the existing motor vehicle team.

We offer IMI validated courses from Entry Level to Level Three in both Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Body Repair and two workshops that are used for the practical delivery. This is an opportunity for you to bring real-life knowledge to our students wishing to work within this dynamic industry; providing students with expert technical knowledge to transfer into the commercial world is a key priority.

Location: Milton Keynes
Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Salary: £14,268 - £20,282 per annum potential skills supplement available for the right candidate

As a successful candidate you will have?
? Motor Vehicle ? qualification minimum Level 3 or equivalent
? PAT testing, IOSH/NEBOSH qualification or equivalent Health & Safety qualification or willing to work towards (These are H&S courses/qualifications that assessors usually have for going to assess the workplace of say an apprentice to assess suitability).
? Portable Appliance testing qualification or willing to work towards (PAT Testing as I suppose this would save some budget on getting the contractor in)
? Assessing/training experience within motor vehicle and up-to-date knowledge of this
? Experience of managing stock/resources effectively
? Be able to display a professional image and manner and have the ability to implement high standards of customer care
? Good communication skills both written and verbal
