The MySQL/ PHP developer will work to define the requirements and detail necessary to commence development work. The role will also include delivering a number of enhancements to the customer journey and additional capabilities required by the Operations team and to manage the delivery of these changes to the live system.

Client Details

My Birmingham based client are in the Financial services sector and as such the MySQL/ PHP developer will have to ensure that at all times you are fully compliant with FCA regulations, business guidelines operating procedures and policies.


As the MySQL/ PHP developer you will be required to:

Develop company software to enable customers to make additional purchases online

Improve customer dashboards by incorporating 3rd party data

Under the direction of the Product and Pricing Director, make improvements to customer facing and internal systems to make the website or dashboard the first port of call for customer activities

Develop new functionality as directed

Manage our interactions with the external software house whilst maintaining and developing the company's bespoke internal systems (on SQL and PHP).

To provide technical advice and IT support to telematics, wholesale and other departments

Analyse data and produce management reports

Provide workstation support across the business and up skill the team and resolve user queries


As a MySQL/ PHP developer you will need the following skill sets:

Strong knowledge of MySQL

Good programming experience in PHP and strong in Excel

Experience of planning and implementing testing of new solutions to minimise risk of failure

Strong Communicator

Effective decision maker in a fast paced environment

Team Player

Able to prioritise workload to meet challenging deadlines and ability to multi task

Proactive and well organised.
