An opportunity exists for a bright and dynamic part- time Accounts Assistant to join the finance team of a progressive, fast-paced FMCG Company on a temporary basis. The successful individual will be communicative and meticulous in their work and be able to hit the ground running. The role will start in early January.

Job Description:

- Resolve supplier queries - investigate outstanding balances, request and apply credit notes.
- Monthly return & closure of POs.
- Monthly supplier account reconciliations.
- Deliver accurate and timely completion of all month end tasks.
- Ensure that accurate POs are raised and receipted in accordance with agreed service standards.
- Accurately code all invoices and process them on a daily basis.
- Manage unapproved & rejected invoice list to ensure payment to terms.
- Ensure that all POs and invoices are posted in line with month end timetable.
- Generate accurate and timely payment batches each week.
- Ensure that remittance advices are sent out each week.
- Accurately raising and issuing of all sales invoices on a weekly basis.
- Review all outstanding balances and ensure that outstanding invoices are paid to terms.
- Accurate allocation of all cash receipts.
- Resolving any issues on the customer ledger, including raising and allocating credit notes and dealing with debit notes (deductions) taken by customers.
- Weekly and monthly reporting of outstanding debt.
- Month end reconciliations, including balance sheet reviews.
- Reviewing customer credit limits through in depth analysis of financial statements.
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with customer and commercials account managers.
- Other Ad Hoc duties.

Skills/Experience:

- A graduate with a minimum of 1 year's previous experience in an accounting function.
- Ability to work 3 or 4 days a week.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Accuracy and a high attention to detail.
- A team-player with a hands-on attitude.
- Excellent communication and literacy skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to perform under pressure.
